Current Works - May 2015

Starting some new stuff here. May brings out the sunshine and makes me want to paint! I'm starting by creating works in different mediums, starting with a watercolor of my grandson, Eddie. I'm showing the completed watercolor and the photograph (which I did not religiously copy).

This is a study in shades of gray. My grays are composed of Permanent Rose, Prussian Blue and Sepia or Burnt Sienna. A very limited palette here (four colors), just exposing the variance in grays from light to dark and warm to cool.

May 2015

I went through my works and some old photos in the endeavor to organize, and came up with an old drawing done in 2004. Here's Legolas from The Lord of the Rings, done in graphite on bristol during that time. I wanted to do more characters from LOTR, but time got the better of me, and I was doing more commissions than ever during that time. Perhaps I'll get back to creating more graphite art in the near future.
